Reiki and massage therapy are excellent therapeutic compliments to each other. The application of Reiki energy achieves several things that allow massage therapy techniques to be even more effective. It conveys feelings of deep relaxation, peace and calm which encourages opening in all of the tissues and the release of chronic holding patterns in the muscles, tendons and ligaments. It often induces deep trance states which are extremely healing on the physical and energetic levels. In addition to all of this, the client is still receiving all of the many emotional benefits of Reiki at the same time.
As far as the flow of the session, it will begin with several Reiki holds, and there will be some additional moments in the session when Reiki is being performed by itself. However the bulk of the session will be Reiki and massage done simultaneously.

Reiki and Fascial Release are exceptionally well suited to working together therapeutically. They both engender a dynamic stillness which is at once active and at rest. The fascia is a web of connective tissue that surrounds and supports all of the structures in the body. It is an intelligent, potently resonant and electromagnetic tissue. Fascia is an excellent conduit for Reiki energy because it performs many of the same functions in the body that Reiki is well known for bolstering. It supports all of the tissues, allows for stability along with dynamic articulation, brings fresh nutrients and clears away waste, all while continually bathing the cells and tissues in the information that they need to function vibrantly. It has been theorized that emotional blockages are closely related to immobility of the fascia, often in specific locations in the body. If this is true, then Reiki is already highly fascial in a sense, because it is capable of clearing emotional blockages from the body. Combining Reiki and myofascial therapy creates a synergy that magnifies both of their effects. Reiki may also support an increase in bodily awareness on the part of the client, enabling them to more easily integrate the effects of the session, and fostering a more stable long term benefit.
